So I realized that I should probably have a lifestyle section if I’m going to pretend to be a real blogger. Since I can’t always be traveling, I should be writing about something. I guess my daily nonsense will have to do.

Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving

If possible, it always helps to be a member at the museums you frequent. 1) early access to cool exhibitions and 2) tickets even when the event has sold out to the public. Museum of Ice Cream Miami

AF29E20B-87A0-42B4-8789-37C6F2BC2EB0So after having a blast at the Museum of Ice Cream San Francisco, I jumped at the chance to visit the newest version, Miami. Tickets were easier to purchase and surprisingly they didn’t sell out very fast. I procured tickets for a weekend in January (I’m behind on posting, I know) and then got on to finding plane tickets. I was in dire need of a mini vacation and recruited a friend to tag along.

Museum of Ice Cream San Francisco

I missed my chance on the original in New York City. By the time I had heard about it, it was over. Then this year they opened one in Los Angeles. Yet again, I missed my chance because it had sold out by the time the news reached my ears. Fortunately I had an epiphany and I signed up for the newsletter. Yayoi Kusama

If you know who Yayoi Kusama is, you know how hard it is to get tickets to see her work in America. We have been trying for what seems like forever. Everything sells out in minutes. So when I heard we could see a small sampling of her work at the David Zwirner Gallery in New York City, I jumped at the chance. It was free to get in; the only catch was getting there and waiting in a line that wrapped around the building. But honestly, it was worth the wait.
